Comrades of The Great War - 1921 Clasp - Enamel & Gilt lapel Badge
A scarce lapel badge with original horseshoe fitting with number 871447 and maker marked JR Gaunt London. The matching 1921 enamel clasp is cleverly designed to fit over the horseshoe fitting, and is separate from the main badge. Some surface wear to the flag otherwise in very good condition with no damage to the enamel.
Comrades of The Great War were formed in 1917 for ex-service men and women who had served or had been discharged from service during First World War. They were one of the original four ex-service associations that amalgamated in May 1921 to form The British Legion.
