An unusual pattern, possibly theatre made, not encountered before, and assumed to be related to Dominion air force units in South Africa or India, but happy to be corrected. Two original small thin loops soldered to reverse of thin cut brass sheet joined via a central strip "RFC". Reminiscent of the slouch hat badges cut from sheet brass in the Boer War. A strong favourite in terms of design, this badge has a lovely patina to it and on the reverse of the bottom two laurel leaves has the name of the manufacturer embossed to reverse (a little hard to read but is Amor, Sydney).
