The Regiment was a Great War raised unit 1916-1920, the only all Bengali volunteer regiment of the educated professional class, all volunteers. Served in Mesopotamia.

Indian made cast bronzed finish shoulder title with two original loops to the reverse. Numeral '6' over 'Royal Jats'. In very good condition. The title 'Royal' was conferred on them in 1921 and they became the 9th Jat Regiment in 1922, so a very short lived title. Scarce.
