A small gilt collar badge with two original loops to the reverse. Slight stain to top right antler otherwise in very good condition. Worn in non facing pairs. Circa 25mm tall.
Formed 1911 and amalgamated 1921.

Die cast in brass with two original loops, these have been squashed together at some point (no doubt for a display board) and have been reshaped. Otherwise in good condition and scarce.
Corbett shows the same size cap badge and design being worn as collar badges. So interchangeable. This is the third pattern worn by this Maori only Battalion, which was disbanded in April 1919. ... read more
