WW1 HMS Hindustan Ships Crest Gun Tampion - Very Scarce

Wood framed Solid Brass Ship's Tampion believed to be from the the WW1 HMS Hindustan, an 18-gun twin propeller pre-dreadnought battleship of the King Edward VII class. She was launched in 1903, sold in 1921 and scrapped in 1923.

Frame has split but could be glued together again without too much trouble. Also some light scratches on frame which need minor attention . The 10 pence piece should give you some idea of the scale of this item. Very attractive design with an elepant's head and tusks.

9 inches in diameter and perfectly circular, 1cm thick, so presumably for use for covering the end of a 9 inch gun. Great condition for age.

We regret that on account of excessive weight will only post to UK mainland address.

Sold to Graham, cheque received with thanks
