A scarce embroidered pattern formation sign facing right removed from uniform depicting a white Viking ship and sunrise embroidered on light blue square, small stain to left edge otherwise in good condition. Worn for a short period of time only at end of WW2. Printed versions more commonly encountered.

In May 1945, following the German surrender in Norway on the 7th May, the 1st and 2nd SAS Brigades were sent to Norway to disarm the 300,000 strong German garrison. Other units entitled to wear this flash were members of 1st Airborne Division under Urquhart, the 50th Northumbrian Division and the 88th Group RAF.
