Unvoided with two long original lugs to the reverse. Cat with tail up. Circle carries the title of the unit " 1st Argyll Highland Rifle Volunteers ". Circa 8.1cm tall. Some polishing to highpoints and detail.

The 1st Admin Battalion was consolidated as the 1st Argyllshire Highland Rifle Volunteers in 1880 and then designated as the 5th Volunteer Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders in 1887.
