Boer War - South African Imperial Light Infantry (ILI) Slouch Hat Sheet Brass Badge - Maker Marked List Bros

War raised unit, 1899 - 1901 only. Very heavily engaged at Spion Kop with severe casualties. Sheet brass mounted on a bar with wire loops and maker marked List Bros. Some initials T A have been neatly scratched to the reverse of the bar. Unlike the Imperial Light Horse which has an existence post Boer War, this unit was hostilities only. A rare item. Exceptionally rare with a maker's mark. the Initials also means there is a possibility of attribution to hte original owner. They do not come better.
