WW1 Home Front - Northern (London) Polytechnic VTC Imperial Service Corps Company Bronze Cap Badge Dated 1915

A large bronze die cast cap badge of two part construction with two original loops to the reverse. Some distortion to the wreath on account of some twisting to the lugs which are a bit squashed but functional. Makers tablet JR Gaunt London to reverse of crown. The relevance of the distinction "Imperial Service Corps Company" would have dropped away completely in January 1916 with the introduction of conscription.

Not in K&K, nor photographed in subsequent MHS bulletins on the subject, but listed as existed. The North London Polytechnic cap badge is rare without the scroll. With the scroll exceedingly rare. Perhaps the rarest of the Volunteer Training Corps badges.
