QVC Victorian Indian Medical Service (IMS) White Metal Pagri Badge

A quite stunning badge, heavy solid cast in one piece in what looks like unmarked Indian silver with original pagri fitting. Circa 7.2cms tall. The VR is hand etched and the casting is very fine but most probably locally made in India. Most likely an officer's / senior doctor's badge as opposed to an Indian Mess Servant. Indian Medical Service was only formed in 1897 so short lived wear with a QVC crown. Simply gorgeous.
