WW2 Home Front - Plastic Economy Home Guard Badge- attributed

Plastic beret / breast badge with original and functional pin and fittings to reverse. Maker's name A.Stanley & Sons of Walsall and number 1-A. Nice and flat with no distortion and only minor crazing. Normally associated with the women who served in the HG.

This has some details scratched to the reverse as follows:

"Lt Col V Sorrell" and below that the number "202".

This is a bit intriguing as 202 is associated with the HG Auxiliary. I can only find the record of one V Sorrell serving with the HG Auxiliary and he as a butcher called Vivian Henry Sorrell in Witham Patrol, Essex. Not sure what to make of this. The rank Lt Col seems bizarre (possibly an in-joke), but is unlikely and cannot be confirmed. There was very little to mark their service. An oddity. Sold as seen, no returns on this item.
