Jordanian Army Chromed Headdress Cap Badge

Chromed badge with original pin backed fastening to the reverse. In near mint condition. As currently worn by the Jordan armed forces but with its origins in that as worn by its predecessor, the Arab Legion, although the arabic text that runs through the middle of the badge is different to that encountered on the pre 1957 Arab Legion badge. The Arab Legion was the police force, then regular army of the Emirate of Transjordan, a British protectorate, in the early part of the 20th century, and then of independent Jordan, with a final Arabization of its command taking place in 1956.
