In Memoriam Printed Card for the Loss of the British Airship R101 - includes Roll of Honour

The R101 airship crashed in France during its maiden overseas voyage on 5 October 1930, killing 48 of the 54 people on board. Curiously, the memoriam card states only 47 killed, including crew and passengers. The killed included Lord Thomson, Air Minister and Sir Sefton Brancker, Air Vice Marshal of the RAF. A poignant and scarce reminder of this tragedy which put paid to British airship development until more recent days. In very good condition.
