Ceylon (Sri Lanka) Mounted Rifles Officer's Martingale Badge Horse Furniture Badge

A large and impressive die struck white metal example, a thick well made example of two part construction with three original blades to the reverse (for fitting through a leather horse's chest martingale). Retailer's tablet to reverse "Hobson & Sons / 13 & 5 / Lexington St / London W." Circa 65mm in diameter. In very good condition with a couple of slight edge bruises to rim, not discernable from the front. Gorgeous and would make a great centre piece to a display of Ceylonese / Sri Lankan badges.
