WW2 North Irish Horse (NIH) Embroidered White on Green Felt Cloth Shoulder Title

Removed from uniform, in very good condition.

Reconstituted in May 1939, the North Irish Horse was initially raised as an armoured car regiment but in 1940 converted to Valentine tanks. The regiment moved to Egypt in January 1943, upgrading to Churchill Tanks and fought throughout the next 15 months before being re-equipped with Sherman Tanks in April 1944, pushing up through Italy for the last year of the war. Post war transferred to the Territorial Army in 1947, but remaining as part of the Royal Armoured Corps as an armoured car regiment as part of the 23rd Armoured Brigade until it was disbanded in 1956, becoming part of 107 (Ulster) Independent Brigade.
