WW2 Home Front - A unique archive of original WW2 documents relating to Durham Home Guard - F Company 14th Battalion

A large and heavy index file with printed proforma for each soldier showing kit allocation, inventory of armoury and brief personal details of each member of the platon including their home addresses, service number, promotions and onward postings to HM Forces where appropriate. The file is about 2 inches thick and represents hours of fun for the military historian and genelogist alike. In addition there are two other accompanying books, one the carbon copy receipt book documenting memos sent to the company office from Septmeber 1940 by the New Penshaw platoon (formerly the Shiney Row Platoon) and also personal notes in a "Service Notes" exercise book about the structure / family tree of the Durham HG and the list of officers of his unit and conventions about map reading and military signs. Only the first 10 or so pages have entries, the majority of the exercise book remains blank. An extraordinary find.

Please note on account of weight will only post to a UK address.
