Indian Army - Zhob Militia Headdress Cap Badge, circa 1889

Cast white metal badge in the form of a mountain goat with long horns, standing on peak of mountain, with scroll 'Zhob Militia'. A small badge at only 35mm tall with two original loops (n-s). Appears to have been silver plated. Rare.

The Zhob Militia were formed by William Raikes-Hodson in 1852. Drawn from Pashtun, Baluch and Afghan soldiers, the unit served as a reconnaissance force for the Corps of Guides and Hodson's Horse.
