Light Infantry Rank and Procifiency Badges, 2 types
In February 1952, Light Infantry Regiments of the British Army had their Warrant officer rank badges and proficiency arm badges standardised with woven cloth badges with rifle (dark) green thread and black thread highlights on buff or khaki fawn backing, but by 1954 this backing had been lightened to what was described as a maize background, as is the case with the two badges for sale here, as follows:
1) A Warrant Officer's rank crown (St Edward's crown or Queen's crown pattern) It is in very good condition; and
2) A Light infantry Bugler's proficiency arm badge is in less good condition with a hole to backing and some edge nibbles and surface grazes.
Sold as seen.
