Royal Army Service Corps (RASC) Full Woven Felt Cloth Shoulder Title - Serifs - Airborne Attached
A scarce Second World War Royal Army Service Corps embroidered shoulder title. Correct finish and hessian backing. In unissued condition.
This pattern of shoulder titles differ from the standard RASC titles which just have the initials of the regiment. This pattern features the full wording in a serif font in yeloow gold against a dark navy coloured blue background. They were introduced in 1941 when Frederick Arthur 'Boy' Browning was Brigadier commanding 24th Independent Bde Gp (Guards) and he later authorised them in 1942 for the 250th Coy, 1st Airborne Division. They also saw limited use with other regiments but are now highly sought-after due to their scarcity and connection with 1st Airborne.
