SS Orduna built in 1914 by Harland & Wolff for the Pacific Steamship Navigation Company (PSNCo) for use on the Latin American routes shipping mail and passengers. After two voyages she was chartered to Cunard Line during the Great War. In 1921 she went to the Royal Mail Steam Packet Company, then being resold to the PSNCo in 1926.

Removed from cap, still tied with tidily bow, in good but worn condition with some grubby marks - attached to it by a single staple is a paper label which summarises this ship's service, which was in commission from 1938 - 1942 when unfortunately it was torpedoed in the Java Sea in 1942 in action with the Japanese invasion force. Birmingham Related Crest Unmarked White Metal Hand Engraved and Voided Design
Not yet positively identified any help most welcome. This is a crest similar to that used by the Birmingham Royal Naval Reserve, but could also be civilian, such as girl guides of the city. four original small fixing loops to the reverse. Die cast, and looks to be unmarked silver as tarnished. Circa 3.9cms tall and 3.1cms wide. In very good condition.

A worn example with nicely curved backing plate and cotter pin. Two original loops to reverse. This one has the slight central die flaw that runs vertically down the centre of the mine as found on some original examples. The copies, of which there are many, have a diagonal flaw line running from the top left to bottom right of the badge. In very good condition.
