Adie struck cap badge with two pinched but still functional loops to reverse otherwise in very good condition with sharp detail.
This is the cap badge (circa 4.1cms). Collar badges were facing and of a similar design but smaller and with 'battalion' abbreviated. It is the same size as the illustration in Cox (good tip: almost all the badges in Cox are life size which is useful... read more

The Canadian government created the badge in 1941 to recognize the service of Canada's merchant mariners, most of whom wore civilian clothing ashore because they had no uniforms.
