WW1 British War Medal 1914- 1918 - 2nd Battalion / 7th Gurkha Rifles - Rai - PoW?

Correctly impressed to:

"2447 Rfn. Tulman Rai, 2-7 G.R."

Short length of original ribbon in as found condition, medal is GVF, with a couple of slight edge knocks.

Medal looks to have been skimmed and renamed, but what remains looks original impressed letteringn but heavily polished including the regimental number has been polished away, looks like 5888 but cannot be certain. An attractive and early Scots Masons Jewel in the form of a bronze-gilt oval starburst, circa 42mm by 38mm (excluding the large ring), bearing the figure of St Andrew on this cross, the cross arms with a green wash (some lost), original ring suspension. An early item of some quality.  read more

WW2 Poland - Framed Medals to a Polish Soldier - MOL PRC (Polish Resettlement Corps)

The Monte Casino Medal is a later unnumbered copy. The other WW2 medals are original. A small cut photo image of the soldier in uniform and attributed below to the late 30049127 Staff Sergeant Stanislaw MOL PRC. A moving tribute in both English and Polish to the reverse of the frame. Worthy of further research.
