Flare Pistol / Gun - Relic Condition - RAF issue

An absolute monster in the hand and of considerable weight. The flare pistol was a feature of every day life in the trenches but this one looks larger than those found as issued to the British Army with a 1.5 inch muzzle. Apparently this is a RAF issue recovered from the seabed. This is completely seized up so no need for a firearms licence and I cannot see any markings. Painted with black...  read more

Royal Household Gilding Metal Martingale Horse Furniture Ornament Badge, c1837- 1901

A very neat die struck and voided Royal Household badge. The Royal Crest with Queen Victoria Crown (QVC) within the Garter HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE. 4 single retaining wires to the reverse (one of two pairs remaining on each securing point). Mid- Victorian Pewter Pint Tankard - Relief Decoration Depicts 1860s Style Rifle Volunteers On Exercise

A decorated panel in relief on the outside face of the tankard shows some 1860s style Rifle Volunteers marching in the countryside and shooting, with a dog watching on. Some marks to reverse of base. Attractively engraved, "J.McD" in top corner, 1st Battalion 5th Fusiliers and has a scroll listing the Northumberland Fusiliers battle honours up to and including the WW1. The reverse is engraved "Cologne Germany1923".
