WW1 90th Punjabis Other Ranks Pagri Badge

A large and impressive other ranks quality pagri badge in cast white metal, looks to have been silver-plated, depicting a crowned quoit with a seated Chinthern to voided centre, '90' below and a scroll 'Punjabis', stout pin back with original fittings. Circa 7.2cms tall. Worn circa 1903-1922.

Became the 2nd Battalion, 8th Punjab Regiment in 1922.

A theatre cast example with two original integral loops to the reverse. In very good condition. Worn by the 74th Punjabis until 1922 when the Regiment was renamed the 2nd Battalion of the 2nd Punjab Regiment. Fought in Palestine in WW1.
