A rare theatre made sand cast example, presumably in India when the Regiment was stationed there, with two original integral fixing loops to the reverse. Quite a bit smaller than its UK made counterpart as illustrated in Westlake (No 176). Circa 13mm tall and 30mm wide. The UK made pattern is 14mm tall and 35mm wide (see my item 62065).

A rare and attractive engraved medium sized gilt button, circa 14mm in diameter, flat backed button with fixed shank. Maker marked (faintly) Pitt &Co, Maddox St. London.

Worn during the visit by Edward, Prince of Wales, later Duke of Windsor to India & Burma November 17, 1921 - March 7, 1922. He sailed on HMS Renown.
