Early pattern bronze 2 part collar badge with applied dragon facing to the left. This has its tail with tuft rather than curl and arrow end, as described by Churchill as an early pattern issue. Signs of some service wear, but original lugs and cotter pin. Generally good condition. Circa 5.5cm tall.

Small pattern king's crown collar badge with two original long lugs to the reverse. The Royal Crest to the centre of a Garter Strap above a scroll bearing the title. 2.7cm tall. A silver locally hallmarked 3D badge of two part construction with two original silver loops to the reverse. Two native (Arabic) hallmarks to the reverse of the base of the Kudu's head and one to the reverse of the base of the circlet. Circa 4.3cms tall and 2.4cms wide. Scarce Gold Coast Regiment West African Frontier Force ( GCR WAFF ) Brass Shoulder Title
Early pattern as worn from 1901 - 1928 (the title Royal was bestowed in 1928 in view of their service against the Germans in Africa during WW1 ). A large elliptical one piece die cast shoulder title. This is a heavy quality piece, circa 5.4cm wide and 3.4cm tall. Slight misshaping to one lug. Scarce.

West Africa - Royal Gambia Artillery / RWAFF Brass Shoulder Title
A dark toned brass title with two original lugs and maker marked Dowler & Sons Ltd. A volunteer force composed of white Europeans. By 1909 it had a strength of 25 men.
The Royal Gambia Artillery were one of a number of units raised in the 1850s in West Africa. It eventually became a company of the Royal West African Frontier Force (RWAFF).
