A genuine unvoided example of this much copied badge with original long and tapering slider to the reverse. Circa 17mm in diameter, domed open backed gilt button with original shank, blank reverse. Gilt bright (some minor wear) and very sharp detail - rare. Worn 1808-1815. Scottish Local Militia units absorbed many of the smaller local volunteer units in 1808.

Royal Army Dental Corps RADC Officer's No 1 Dress Collar Badge - Kings Crown, Gaunt

A gorgeous two part riveted construction collar badge silver plate and gilt, facing right. Marked 'P' to the reverse and maker marked JR Gaunt London. Two original D shaped loops. Gilt bright and no wear to silver plate. This was a short-lived pattern, having been introduced in 1948. King's crown so pre 1952.
