Mercantile Marine Cunard Line Bullion Cap Badge

An early Cunard Line bullion hat badge, circa 4.8cms tall, heavily embroidered with gold bullion on black felt backing, the lion with an applied metal face. A solid rampant lion holding the earth at centre, with small crown to top of the lions head. Most probably a station master style hat badge, circa 1890s. In very good worn condition.

WW2 Royal Navy RN Petty Officer's Bullion Cap Badge, King's Crown

Removed from cap. A padded bullion wire example with embroidered crown and silver plated metal fouled anchor to centre, on black wool background. Hessian backed with strengthening bar. In good worn condition. Central jewel below crown is blue. They were worn with blue central jewels from 1920 onwards.

WW2 Royal Navy - Woven Cloth Shoulder Title

In good condition (a little bit wrinkled), hessian backed. Authorised for wear on battledress in June 1941, replaced with a printed version in April 1943. initially worn by RN Beachmasters and with a separate supplementary Commando title by RN Commando units on battledress. Rare.

Royal Navy (RN) Telegraphists / Wireless Operators Bullion Cloth Rating Badge

Removed from uniform. The paper packing cloth is unusual in that it reveals the makers name, 'Gwendyr Make' which suggests a Welsh manufacturer. A search on line shows they made items high quality embroidered items for the US forces stationed in the UK during WW2 and well as items for the Royal Navy and RAF both during and after WW2. WW1 RMA Royal Marine Artillery Other Ranks Brass Metal Shoulder Title

In good worn condition with two original loops to the reverse (slightly bent). This is the larger pattern as worn by Other Ranks. Circa 49mm wide by 16mm tall.

Westlake confirms that the straight RMA brass shoulder title was worn until 1923.

Indian Army - CLH Calcutta Light Horse Brass Shoulder Title

The Calcutta Light Horse was raised in 1872 and formed part of the Cavalry Reserve in the British Indian Army. The regiment was disbanded following India's independence in 1947. This is very nicely cast with two small original lugs to the reverse. Of good quality, possibly officers' issue.
