WW1 Officers Map Lens (11) France - Attributed to Captain W G Clark RFA

No 11 in the series of twelve large scale foldable maps covering France and Belgium, this one covering the Lens area which included Arras, Bapaume and of course Lens. Map itself is clean and intact, the linen covers are grubby from service use and foxed with age. It is not a trench map as it does not have trenches marked on it.

A dark toned brass die struck badge with two long original loops (bent upwards but functional) and not a slider (as found on copies). A scarce genuine example of this much copied badge. Removed from uniform, in very good condition. Printed RN rank and rate badges are less common than similar badges for the Army. White versions were worn on tropical dress (FS276 p30).

The Star with W in the centre was common to both RN and WRNS ratings (May p92).

Removed from uniform, an embroidered arm badge in the shape of a horse bit. Circa 5.4 cms tall and 5 cms wide. In very good condition. WW2 or earlier.
