An early good straight and stiff badge with sharp detail and two original lugs to the reverse (slight twisting from wear).

Kipling & King attribute this squarer pattern badge as worn on the Brodrick cap, 1902-1905. Later patterns had more of a scalloped edge between the rays.

A scarce complete tube containing its original scroll. I have had to photograph the scroll behind a plastic sheet to keep it flat given its propensity to want to curl back up.
