A scarce 'National Savings 15'6 and £1" brass with inlaid black enamel badge bearing the Asian goodluck symbol of a crooked cross, the use of which was dropped in 1939 for obvious reasons. The reverse has the maker's details "J.A.Wylie & Co London". Good condition with no damage to the enamel and with its original pin fitting plus clasp, no damage to the enamel. Brass 18 punder shell dated 6/15, Circa 17cm in length, circa 16cm tall including bullet and 11cm wide. Trench art item in the form of a coal skuttle with swivel handle and separate holder for a bullet, which has been converted into a shovel. Heavy item but a great piece for your harth! Will polish up nicely.

Large and attractively engraved and made during the Great War as dates only go to 1917!:
" 5th N.F. European War 1914-15-16-17".

12.5cm tall, 9.5cm wide. Soldered brass stand behind which means it displays nicely. Made from a brass shell casse judging by the curve. I have seen a similar one to the 4th NF.  read more
