The Army Remount Department was formed in circa 1875 at Soharanpur but badges were not authorised until 1931 (Indian Dress Regulations 1931 para 179).

A scarce heavy yellow brass other ranks WBC but rather crudely made, poorly fitting and badly cast. Despite this, a rare survivor as officers' versions were private purchase. If nothing else, it could serve as a gap filler until you can find a better one (if ever!).

Captured French Eagle on tablet inscribed 8, no circle or title. This pattern sealed 1903. Two original dark toned loops to the reverse. In very good condition with sharp detail. Circa 7.7cm tall.

Worcestershire Regiment Other Ranks Gilding Metal Brass Cap Star Badge, c1890 - 1895
A die struck gilding metal brass star with two original loops to the reverse. These are flat electrical connector style loops, as originally manufactured. Circa 6.9cm tall. Some minor touches of verdigris to lower section of star rays otherwise in very good condition and scarce.
