Colonial West Africa - Royal Gambia Victorian Artillery Officers Large Pattern Gilt Tunic Button, QVC
Circa 23mm in diameter, fixed shank, maker marked Jennens & Co. London. Gilt bright with only minor wear to the highpoints. In lovely condition. Pre 1902.
The Royal Gambia Artillery were one of a number of units raised in the 1850s in West Africa, recruiting local men. It eventually became part of the Royal West African Frontier Force (RWAFF).
