Unidentifed, 14mm in diameter, flat, fixed shank, reverse marked English Made, with Registered Design No 241562 with crossed swords below (Wilkinson Sword fashion). This dates the design to 1894. Suspect it has something to do with a RN sword baldric. Reasonable condition.

Gilt bright with two original lugs and backing plate. This is exactly 2 inches in length and was authorised for wear by Army Order 249 of August 1916 and this was only issued in this size up to 1922 (discontinued for wear on uniform by Army Order 434 of 1922).

Wound stripes issued in WW2 were only 1.5 inches in length.
