The Royal Gloucestershire Hussars ( Yeomanry ) Brass Cap Badge - Dowler

A good heavy die struck cap badge with original slider which is maker marked " Wm. Dowler. ( B'ham ) ". This is one of several naming styles used by Dowler. This pattern of naming is correct, earlier than most and not often encountered. Scarce.

This pattern was worn post 1908, the portcullis is surmounted by a ducal coronet (the arms of the Dukes of Beaufort).

A fine post 1922 well die cast white metal example with two original copper loops and cotter pin and maker marked JR Gaunt London, mounted on full dress gold lace chevrons with single press stud to the reverse. In very good condition.

A 1957 Lance Corporals' pattern two part construction badge with raised rim, the oval in gilding metal and the eagle blackened, with two original loops (east - west) to the reverse and two original screw posts to the reverse of the eagle but now with replacement retaining nuts (should have been hexagonal). A die cast white metal example with to original loops to the reverse. Circa 3.6cms tall and 4cms wide. Scarce.

A very fine solid die-struck (semi-cast) silver plated crest of Prince Albert on two original lugs (sanctioned for wear in 1876, but this pattern was actually worn in the 1950s). Circa 6cm tall. Minor toning to silver finish.

Royal Scots Dragoon Guards (RSDG) NCOs Bi Metal Arm Badge

Bi Metal arm badge with all three original loops to reverse. Slight spotting otherwise in condition with minor service wear to loops. Reverse has a stock number written on a panel of white paint. Would have been worn on a mourning black back backing. Circa 47mm tall and 38mm wide.

Formed in 1971 by amalgamation of the 3rd Carabiniers and Royal Scots Greys.
