First Day of issue set, each stamp franked with a 27th June 1972 cancellation mark and gummed to a photographic postcard of the relevant headdess / helmet depicted on the stamp in question. Postally blank and in excellent condition (slight foxing to reverse of a couple cards). An interesting set.

WW1 German Postcard shoing a U-Boot / U Boat bringing a captured merchant ship into harbour

A patriotic art card, postally unused, showing a captured merchant ship being escorted by its captor into port. Whether this was an actual event or propaganda to put the U Boot arm in a better light, I cannot say, but the truth was much likely that it was sunk at sea. WW1 Silk Embroidered Patriotic Postcard - Birthday Greetings

Postally unused put pencil message to reverse. French maker. Some mild foxing to front but still in its original protective envelope. Used as a birthday greetings card for a Mr W Rodman, and addressed to a Miss Mary Rodman at 44 Sheffield Road, Woodhouse, Sheffield in Yorkshire. In very good condition for age with with the flags of the Allied Nations.

HMS Medusa 2nd Class Cruiser Royal Navy Atmospheric Postcard

HMS MEDUSA was a Marathon class Protected Cruiser Royal Navy. Built for the Royal Navy in 1888, she became a guard or harbour ship in 1910. Sold out of the service in 1920.

Postally used, EDVII stamp. Some corner wear otherwise in good condition.

WW1 Silver War Badge (SWB) Award Document Plus Discharge Certificate to Pte John Plews, 8th (TF) Battalion Durham Light Infantry (DLI)

Completed Army Form B2067, 4 sides, detailing particulars of one 6776 Pte John Plews who served with the 8th (TF) Battalion (HQ Durham) and served in France and Flanders. 1977 Silver Jubilee - Telescopic Viewer novelty - Interesting and rare

Entitled "Tim's Telescopic View of Her Majesty's Silver Jubilee 1952 - 1977". It has a viewing hole that takes your eye down through an animated procession from Admiralty Arch in London down the Mall to Buckingham Palace, and has the Queen and Prince Philip in their state coach with all the pagentry of London advancing towards you.
