Appears to have been black painted. Not sure if this is a wartime modification or something to do with a territorial battalion. In good condition.

One part only of a twopart badge, a crowned thistle (QEII issue), in very good condition complete with lugs, maker marked JR Gaunt London, which dates it to pre 1970. Superb quality officers field service cap bullion wire embroidered cap badge as worn on the left side of the cap. A nicely padded badge has the " MYC " monogram on a black velvet ground to the centre of an oval bearing the motto and surmounted by a Queen's crown. Scarce.
