In very good condition with two original dark toned loops to the reverse. Circa 5.8cm tall. Gilt has dulled but otherwise in excellent condition and only worn 1895 - 1902. From 1902 onwards they became a King's African Rifles Battalion. There would only have been a handful of officers. Rare.

Scarce Sierra Leone Battalion ' SLBn ' brass shoulder title, British made with J.R. Gaunt London stamped to the reverse with both of its original lugs. Worn circa 1901-28. In good condition.

The British colony of Sierra Leone contributed one battalion of infantry to the West African Field Force. It was formed from personnel of the Sierra Leone Frontier Police.
