A small silver plated Royal Garhwal Rifles officer's field service cap badge, in the form of a King's crown above Maltese cross with regimental details in circle to centre and strung bugle. Circa 28mm tall with two original copper loops and mounted on an old piece of shaped blue backing cloth, added for display. Scarce. Worn circa 1922 - 1950. Allocated to India following Independence.

British Indian Army - 1st Punjab Regiment bi-metal Cap Badge, pre 1953

This cap badge is of two part construction and of Indian manufacture, gilding metal star and crown with a white metal central mounted riveted device, with two original tombstone style fixings to reverse (north - south, cap to centre of each tab circa 27mm). Circa 4.2cms tall and 3.5cms wide. In very good condition. A pleasing example.

A good scarce die-cast locally made silvered example. Circlet “GURKHA RIFLES”, to the voided centre a strung bugle with kukri, Princess Mary’s Cypher and “10” between the strings. Stout pin to reverse. Silver plate in very good condition, not worn through to the base metal.

This pattern worn circa 1953 until 1960, so worn for only a brief period of time.
