The Royal Fusiliers Regiment (City of London Regiment) (7th Foot) - Victorian Issue Other Ranks Brass Cap Badge

An early Victorian Crown pattern which displaces some of the lettering on the strap. This shortcoming was improved on the later issue with the Imperial crown sitting atop of the strap and the lettering being fully visible. Some twisting to loops otherwise in very good condition.

New Zealand Volunteers QVC General Issue Brass 1878 Pattern Helmet Plate, 1882 - 1895

In good overall condition with two of two dark toned loops to the reverse. The bugle and garter pattern was replaced in 1895 with the plate with four stars. Worn by the volunteer units which did not have a specific design. Instead they identified themselves from the initials of their corps worked in white worsted on the shoulder straps. Circa 26mm in diameter, fixed shank, maker marked Prater & Co, London. Some wear to the silver plate on the high points otherwise in good condition. Worn pre-1908, after which they became the 7th Battalion, The London Regiment.

WW1 Home Front - Fire Gilt War Munition Volunteer War Worker Lapel Buttonhole Badge - Gaunt

A pleasing example, some light dulling to gilt finish otherwise in very good condition with issue number 43118 and maker marked JR Gaunt & Son Ltd. London, warranted fire gilt. An official issue, a crowned strap, shield to voided centre depicting crossed cannon guns. Circa 4.4cms tall.

A very nice pair with two original loops to the reverse. A good match from the front, slightly different from the rear. Worn pre-1897, but also formed part of shoulder titles post that date for Volunteer Battalions to 1908 and 'walking-out' shoulder titles for Territorial Battalions until 1920. Also worn by Volunteer Artillery.
