Pair of Uncut Printed ALFSEA / SEALF / FARELF GHQ Formation Signs
An uncut pair in superb condition. Property of a former Gurkha officer.
During wartime it was ALFSEA (Allied Land Forces South East Asia), then worn by SEALF (HQ South East Asia Land Forces) which succeeded ALFSEA in December 1946. Changed again on 15th August 1947 to FARELF ( Far Eastern Land Forces (British Army)), but with no change to formation sign design.

Pte George Turner, initially enlisted the Herts Regiment prior the the outbreak of WW1 in March 1914, but was awarded his medal entitlement with the 4th ( Territorial Force ) Battalion the Essex Regiment. 21st (Empress of India’s) Lancers Cast White Metal NCOs Rank Arm Badge - Stippled Version
A semi die cast white metal arm badge, with a hollow behind the crown and with two original loops (n-s) to the reverse. This pattern is specifically described in Linaker and Dine on page 141 as having central stippling on the V, which splits and follows into the main leaves at the top of the letter. Prior to 1933, known as the Bombay Light Horse, part of the cavalry reserve of the British Indian Army, . The badge was modified from "Horse" to Patrol" in 1933 to reflect their mechanisation as the Bombay Light Patrol.
