WW1 - 5G 5th Gurkha Rifles (Frontier Force) Blackened Brass Shoulder Title
An early title, predating the granting of the title "Royal" in 1921. Worn from circa 1894. Circa 15mm tall and 28mm wide. Would originally have been all blackened, but this appears to have been cleaned back mainly to the brass. Two original hexagonal fixing loops to the reverse. In good worn condition.

A close match of two bronze cast titles with two original integral loops to the reverse of each. Circa 3.9cms wide and 1.8cms tall. In good overall condition. Believed to have been worn from 1900 - 1920s by the 2nd Battalion only (see page 46 of publication below).

The regiment's cap badge is a chakram or quoit, with a mounted kirpan (type of knife). The insignia was designed to honour the Khalsa community's Akali Nihang ancestry.
