6th/8th (TAVR) Battalion Durham Light Infantry (DLI) Officer's Service Dress Beret, 1967-68 only

This green cloth beret has the cap badge of 8th Battalion DLI mounted on the felt cloth diamond of the 6th Battalion. In 1967, following a national Defence Review, the last two DLI Territorial Battalions were combined to form the 6th/8th Battalion DLI, which became part of the Light Infantry's Territorial and Army Volunteer Reserve. WW1 Durham Light Infantry (DLI) Slip-on Woven Shoulder Title

Worn in facing pairs, this is a single example with the bugle facing to right. In good condition with minor edge wear to left edge but with no moth and with a solid linen backing to the reverse.

Slip-On Cloth Shoulder Titles were instituted by the British in April 1916 as an economy measure to conserve metal.
